INDIA — Tal Yehoshua Koren, the wife of an Israeli envoy to India who was injured in a terror attack on Monday, is recovering well and is “out of danger,” her doctors and family said Wednesday.
Yehoshua Koren underwent surgery to remove shrapnel that hit her when a bomb was attached to her car by an assailant. One of the fragments was lodged near her spine, but her family said that she is able to move her legs, indicating that she is not paralyzed.

“She’s still exhausted, in recovery,” he said. “Her condition is improving by the hour… the kids have been allowed to see her, and she played with them.”
He expressed hope that Yehoshua Koren will be back in Israel soon, where she can continue her rehabilitation.
“She is assuring everyone that she’s fine,” he said. “She knows exactly what happened. She managed to talk with the driver who saved her life. He’s lightly inured. Everyone has miraculously survived.”
‘No sign of infection’
ND Khurana, medical superintendent at the Primus Specialty Hospital said that Yehoshua Koren is showing initial signs of recovery and is stable.
“She is alert, conscious and comfortable. Wounds are healing and there is no sign of infection even after the liver injury,” he said.
“We want to make sure that there are no secondary infections. We will retain her for a couple of days before she completely recovers with a normal breathing pattern,” Khurana added. (*)
