(RADIO PAKISTAN) — President Asif Ali Zardari says Pakistan Peoples Party is ready for elections at every time‚ however‚ general elections will be held in time.
This he said‚ while chairing a meeting of PPP members Sindh Assembly and party leaders in Karachi on Thursday. He said PPP will win the next general elections too.
President Zardari who is also the co-chairman of PPP directed the members to accelerate the pace of work on development projects.
President Zardari said PPP has served the people for four and half years and it will complete its tenure. He said PPP will contest coming elections in collaboration with the allied parties.
President Zardari said that the people‚ who interpret the constitution for their vested interests‚ may continue to do that but they believe firmly in the very spirit of the constitution.
He said that conspiracies are being hatched against the PPP and government.
He said that he is the symbol of the Federation and is not doing politics in the presidency. He said his party is doing politics and he is rightful to meet workers and no one can deprive him of his right.
President Asif Ali Zardari said Parliament is as autonomous as other institutions. He said the other institutions are nominated while the parliament is elected and all the other institutions are under the parliament.
About Benazir Card‚ he said a positive and encouraging response has been received from the people‚ which has greatly helped in solving their problems.
About law and order situation in Karachi‚ the President said that is the duty of law enforcing agencies to improve and maintain it.
Turning to the international and geo-political scenario of the region‚ President Zardari said changes are taking place in the world and Pakistan is fully aware of this changing situation and keeping a vigilant eye on it. (*)
